Privacy Policy
What Convert Green collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Effective and last updated: August 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Convert Green collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information through ConvertGreen.com, its forms, calculators, newsletter, proposal-review requests, and referral services. It also serves as our notice at collection. The site and lead services are intended primarily for people in the United States.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Identifiers and contact information: name, email address, telephone number, ZIP code, and communication preference.
- Home-energy and project information: property type and ownership status, electric-bill range, utility, roof age or condition, products of interest, project timeline, payment preference, existing provider or installer, proposed system size and price, and questions you submit.
- Documents and user content: messages, proposal files, images, and other content you choose to send. Please redact Social Security numbers, financial-account details, government identification, passwords, signatures, and other unnecessary sensitive information before uploading a document.
- Internet and device information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, cookie identifiers, affiliate-link clicks, and security or error logs.
- Communication and consent records: newsletter choices, form source, submission time, preferred contact method, referral authorization, opt-outs, and related correspondence.
- Derived information: planning results or basic inferences created from the information you provide, such as whether a project appears to fit stated provider service criteria. These are preliminary and not technical designs or eligibility decisions.
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, from analytics and security services, and—when necessary to manage an introduction—from the provider you authorized us to contact.
2. Why we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to inquiries and provide requested educational, planning, or proposal-review information;
- determine whether a potential provider may serve a location or project;
- make an introduction only after identifying the provider and receiving the consumer’s direction or agreement;
- send an optional newsletter and measure engagement;
- operate, maintain, secure, debug, analyze, and improve the site and forms;
- attribute affiliate purchases or referral outcomes and maintain business records;
- prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- honor privacy, communication, and consent choices; and
- comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect legal rights and safety.
3. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described above:
- Service providers: website hosting and caching, WordPress and form infrastructure, email delivery, cloud storage, analytics, security, spam prevention, professional advisors, and similar vendors that help operate the site. Current site tools may include BigScoots, WordPress, Forminator, Wordfence, Google Site Kit/Google Analytics, and related infrastructure.
- A specifically identified energy provider: contact and relevant project information only after you agree to or direct the introduction. We do not use one submission as blanket authorization for an undisclosed group of providers to contact you.
- Affiliate and advertising services: an affiliate network or retailer may receive a cookie or click identifier when you follow an affiliate link. Convert Green participates in programs that may include the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. The third party controls information collected on its own site.
- Legal and safety recipients: courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid process, investigate fraud, protect safety or rights, or enforce agreements.
- Business-transaction recipients: advisers, buyers, lenders, or successors involved in a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.
We may disclose aggregated or deidentified information that reasonably cannot be linked to an individual.
4. Referral compensation and state-law “sale” or “sharing”
Convert Green may receive compensation for an introduction that you authorize. Some state privacy laws define a compensated disclosure of personal information as a “sale,” even when the business does not sell a general customer list. We therefore disclose the relationship plainly and offer an opt-out before a referral. See our Solar Referral & Compensation Disclosure and Your Privacy Choices.
We do not sell telephone numbers, text-message opt-in data, or project files to unidentified marketers. We do not share text-message consent with third parties for their unrelated marketing.
5. Cookies, analytics, security, and affiliate tracking
The site may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies for essential operation, security, preferences, analytics, performance measurement, advertising, and affiliate attribution. Google Analytics may receive device and usage information under Google’s terms. Amazon and other affiliate partners may place or read identifiers after you follow their links. Wordfence and hosting providers may process IP addresses and request data to protect the site.
You can limit cookies through browser settings and available privacy controls, although disabling essential technologies may affect site functions. The site does not currently treat a browser “Do Not Track” signal as a universal request because no single standard applies. Where applicable law requires recognition of a supported opt-out preference signal, we will process it as required. You may always use the request method on our Privacy Choices page.
6. Retention
We retain information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, using the following general periods unless law, a dispute, fraud prevention, or a written agreement requires longer:
- ordinary inquiries and project-form data: up to three years after the last meaningful interaction;
- proposal uploads: generally up to 12 months after review or last activity;
- consent, referral, unsubscribe, and opt-out records: generally up to five years;
- security, access, and fraud-prevention logs: generally up to 24 months;
- newsletter information: until you unsubscribe or the list is retired, with a limited suppression record retained to honor the opt-out; and
- analytics and affiliate records: according to the settings and retention practices of the relevant provider and our legitimate recordkeeping needs.
We may delete information sooner when it is no longer needed.
7. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on your state and whether a law applies to Convert Green, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit use of sensitive information; and appeal a denied request. Convert Green offers access, correction, deletion, marketing opt-out, and compensated-referral opt-out requests to all U.S. visitors as a practical commitment, subject to reasonable verification and legal exceptions.
Submit a request through Your Privacy Choices or email convertgreenonline@gmail.com with the subject Convert Green Privacy Request. We may verify your identity and authority before acting. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
8. Communications
Submitting a project form authorizes Convert Green to respond about that request using the method you selected. It does not by itself authorize automated telemarketing by Convert Green or any unidentified third party. Newsletter enrollment is optional and separate. You may unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us to withdraw call or text permission. Additional details appear in our Terms of Use.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to a small online business, including access controls, security monitoring, backups, and reputable service providers. No online system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not submit highly sensitive information that we have not requested.
10. Children
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
11. Third-party services and international access
Third-party sites have their own privacy practices, including providers, utilities, retailers, lenders, manufacturers, affiliate partners, and social networks. Review their policies before submitting information. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. Visitors outside the United States should understand that local protections may differ.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy as our services, vendors, or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted here with a new date. If a change materially expands how we use previously collected information, we will provide additional notice or seek consent when required.
13. Contact
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to convertgreenonline@gmail.com. Convert Green operates from Colorado, United States. Also review our Terms of Use, Affiliate Disclosure, and Review Methodology.
